In preparation for our backyard makeover we started on a raised bed that is directly off the deck and next to the house. It took a truck full of dirt, a shovel, and a wheelbarrow but I think it looks pretty good! Of course we have not planted anything... it was entirely too cold yesterday. We also added lattice around the deck. Why we haven't done that before now neither of us know.
We are leaning towards planting a witch hazel tree or a cherry tree. Our kitchen window overlooks the new bed so I want a tree that is gorgeous.
What a great idea! I don't think the roots of a weeping cherry get too big to hurt your foundation.
