FALL

So this weekend the temperatures are going to drop!! Finally, a fall weekend.
I'm thinking of packing a picnic and driving up to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Maybe the leaves will have started changing... MAYBE!

Fall Foliage

Check out these modern picnic baskets!! Lots of color options and they collapse for easy storage.

Or if you prefer old school baskets (they have all the charm!)

Sounds like a fun outing, huh??

Ellerbee Monograms

We have all had a monogram obsession... Mine typically sticks to towels, sheets, and my middle school LL Bean pack back (it was royal blue.)  However, a follower emailed me about her friend's new business ~ steel monograms for the wall, dinnerware, and even school locker decorations!!

WHOOPS

I apologize for my delayed post.  I have about a million projects that are going on right now... why is it that I always bite off more than I can chew?!?  I started power washing our house in preparation for painting it, also did our walkway and it looks brand new.  A quick and easy face lift for the front of the house.

Our living room is getting a drastic makeover! Did I tell you we sold my husbands bachelor couches??  There were comfy but not my style and they were humongous!  We sold those, rearranged our entertainment system, hung our TV above the fireplace, ordered a custom sofa, and purchased a chair.  In other words we have done a lot!! There are two projects left... My hubby is working on building a wooden frame for a mirror we bought at Ikea.  It's 30 inch in diameter and the plan is to paint the frame a high gloss black to hang above the sofa.  The other small project is tables and lighting for either side of the sofa.  My original thought was to use end tables on each side with a pair of lamps. However, now I'm thinking of using floor lamps with drink tables on either side of the sofa.  Hmmmm... decisions, decisions.

Oh and by the way... Remember my post about velvet sofas a month or so ago??  The new sofa is velvet! Love it!

Crushin'

I am in LOVE with this room!! I think what draws me to this the most are these amazing wrap around windows.  This room must be on a higher level of the house... look at that view ~ In the tree tops. Amazing!
Another thing I love is the actual design of the windows... the big panels of glass are stunning.  We have french doors in the dining room with 12 panes and they are such a PAIN to clean.  I would prefer french doors based on this design.  You live and learn.
The banquette, chairs, and table are all killer!!  I'm especially drawn to the vintage chairs.

Oh Goodness... Would you not die to have a rooftop lounge of your very own?!?  This is absolutely gorgeous.  Pink is all over the magazines but what I'm drawn to is the actual rooftop lounge.  Would love to have this.

Accent Walls

Once again all the great magazines are beginning their monthly delivery into my mailbox~
Flipping through them gives me so much inspiration.  I am now thinking of painting my guest bedroom closet doors a pinky/purple color.  (it's my fav right now) I also either want to do the ceiling or one wall...  any thoughts? I'm scared to do the ceiling what a J O B!

Accent walls are a big debate amongst designers. Some designers would never think of using such a short cut.  But I'm kind of digging it!  What do you think??

And as always... Big and Bold.  Here is the color I'm thinking~

The Time is Here

To start switching out summer clothes for fall! Thank goodness~ I was beginning to get extremely bored with my summer clothes.  Can't wait to get back in jeans and boots!!!!
So in preperation we painted and added wire shelving to get better organized. Our closets were basic...  sliding doors and a single rod with shelf.  It's amazing how more better you can see the clothes!

My Hubby's Closet

Guest Bedroom Closet... This is where we store all off season clothes
(and of course pillows and fabrics I have collected... haha!)

I'm feeling a lot more organized and my mind is at ease.  A Sunday well spent!

Graham & Brown

OH GOODNESS
I have stumbled on the most amazing source for wallpaper... Graham & Brown!
They have the funkiest paper I have ever seen.  Black and white frames that you or your kids can color any way you want... super cute in a kids bathroom!  A textured paper that you can paint over to match your decor.  Not to mention bright colors and funky patterns.

I'm obsessing over all of these.....  http://www.grahambrown.com/

Buy USA

In an effort to bring production back to the good old United States my family and I are making a VERY big effort not to purchase products that are made in China.  Do you know how hard that it is??  Clothes especially.  I spent 20 minutes flipping through racks looking for Yoga Pants not made in China.  I finally found a pair that was made in the USA and they were about $1 - $2 more but I bought them.  I couldn't find a sports bra not made in China so I didn't buy one.
I challenge you to join our efforts and buy USA or at least don't buy products made in China.

High Point Furniture Market has even dedicated a floor (not much room at all) for products specifically made in the United States.  I will be sure to check it out and report back!
My Hubby and I are on the search to find end tables for our new sofa in our living room and I found these awesome babies!  And proudly in the description is "Made in USA"!!!

Redo??

Hello All~  Hope you had a nice long holiday weekend!  We sure did... we hiked into Linville Gorge to camp and it was beautiful.  Still sore but well worth it.

Yesterday I was playing around on the Internet and found this pic... Love this bookcase.  It's inspiration to take everything out of mine and redo.

Art ~ Set of Six

Aren't these prints SO FUN!?!?
These could go anywhere and give your room instant pizazz...  As much as we all want original art there is absolutely nothing wrong with reproduction.  It's affordable so if you ever decide you want a change you won't feel too bad about it. ;)

I think these sets of six are incredible. Love the fun colors!!
You could stack them as pictured above a sofa or if you have a blank wall you can hang them 2 x 3 to give you more height.
(Note: you may want to hire someone to hang these for you so distance is the same between the frames!)

Hope you have a wonderful long weekend!
