Mercury Glass

Typically you see Mercury Glass during the holidays but I think this needs to be something that is used year round.  What a cool way to snazz up your boring mantle or your blank dining table???  I LOVE that lighting lines are now using Mercury Glass for lamps... OBSESSED!  Just a great way to bring in a distinct look.

Mercury Glass is "thin glass blown with double walls and sealed after silvering of the enclosed surface of the inner wall to produce ornamental ware."  Per Webster's Dictionary.  Mercury Glass was originally made in Germany in the 1840's.  So keep your eyes peeled for vintage mercury glass while out shopping.
