One of my favorite things is slate floors!!! I would kill to have a foyer with slate installed like the picture below:
Slate can come in any shape or size and the color can vary from charcoal gray to hints of brown or rust. I particularly like this pattern and color. You can get slate at any local stone supplier and therefore could be a do it yourself project. Our foyer isn't right for slate but maybe in our next place!
I also have been wanting to paint my foyer wall with Koi fish. I saw it in a magazine several years ago and it has stuck with me. Again, my foyer isn't right for this design but maybe in my next pad...
